Most of the centres offer shortened versions for tourists, but here in the alun-alun selatan of the kraton, marathon all-night performances are held every second Saturday from 21:00 to 05:00. Bring a pillow.


Lucifer

An intimate bar and one of the city’s key live-music venues. There are live bands every night, with everything from reggae to bluesy rock.



Made Cafe
This international restaurant serves a great deal of continental, Indonesian, and western foods and also serves some nice beverages such as fresh juices, spirits and cocktail or mocktail. The restaurant which is owned by Mrs. Made Sriwuryani located in jl. Parangtritis km1 (around Prawirotaman street).

Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple

Ramayana ballet is an art performance that is so beautiful, admiring and it is difficult to compare. This performance is able to unite various Javanese arts such as dance, drama and music on one stage and one momentum to present the Ramayana story, a legendary epos written by Walmiki in Sanskrit language.


Alun-alun Kidul (ALkid)

One of hangout spots tourists must visit in the City of Gudeg, Yogyakarta, is the South Square, better known as Alun-alun Kidul (Alkid). The vast space in the back of the Royal Palace has become the town landmark. Its existence clings to the hearts of Yogyakarta people.
Even though the area is only a wide grassy yard with two big banyan trees in the center, Alkid has become a magnet for people. One of the attractions is the Masangin tradition, walking through the middle of the banyan trees. According to people’s belief, anyone can get through the passage in between the trees with eyes closed, his/her wish will be granted.
